Thomas M. McCloat, 66, of Mattydale passed away on Friday with his family by his side. Born in Jamaica, NY to Thomas and Mary McCloat, Thomas grew up in Woodmere, Long Island and graduated from Hewlette High School. From there Thomas enlisted into the US Airforce in September 1957 before retiring in July 1979. He went on to work as a mail handler for Taft Road Post Office before retiring in August 2001 after 20 years of service. Thomas was a member of St. Margaret?s Church, the American Legion in Cicero, and Save Hyde Lake Association.
Thomas was a loving and devoted Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Great-Grandfather. He is pre-deceased by his first wife Judith A. McCloat. Thomas is survived by his wife, the former Deborah Bliss; three sons Douglas Robin Nelson of Hastings, T. Michael II Kristine Craw of Solvay, and Robert Kara McCloat of Croton-On-Hudson; three daughters Kimberly Paul Labozzetta of Mattydale, Teresa Roger Tibbetts of Fulton, and Hope William Dudley McCloat of Mattydale; his mother Mary McCloat of Long Island; a brother Gerard McCloat of Easton, CT; ten grandchildren Angelic Gallegos, Crystal and Matthew McCloat, Shelby and Thomas III McCloat, Zachary Dishaw, Valerie, Kate and Danielle Labozzetta, and Charity Dudley; a great-granddaughter Laryssa Heller; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be 10:45 am Wednesday at the Krueger Funeral Home followed by a mass at 11:30 am, in St. Margaret?s Church in Mattydale. Burial will be in N. Syracuse Cemetery. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at funeral home, 2619 Brewerton Rd., Mattydale, NY 13211.
