George McLuckie JR.

George F. McLuckie, Jr., 76, formerly of Mattydale and North Syracuse, passed away October 18, 2008 after a brief battle with cancer in Colorado Springs, CO where he had resided for the past nine years. He was retired from Crucible Steel Mill and also served a three year stint as a US Army field Artillery Officer in the Korean War.
George was predeceased by his wife and true love, Regina Root McLuckie in 1959 and by his beloved sister, Mary Jean O'Reilly in 1972.
Surviving are his son: George F. McLuckie III of Texas, JoAnn of Mattydale, and Martha Sagneri of Georgia; 4 grandchildren: Mark and Jared McLuckie of Mattydale, Azure McLuckie of Texas, and Melissa Sagneri of Georgia; his brother: Thomas A. Tokuko McLuckie of Colorado Springs, CO; many nieces and nephews and his favorite niece: Catlin Sidwell of Colorado Springs, CO.
Mass will be held at 10am Saturday June 20th in St. Margaret's Church, Mattydale. Burial will follow in Assumption Cemetery with full military honors. All friends are welcome to join the family for refreshments following the burial at Woody's Jerkwater Pub in Kmart Plaza, Mattydale. "We miss you Dad."
