Frederick "Fred" W. Michalson, 78, of Lakeshore Rd. Cicero, died Sunday at the Francis House. A native of Cohoes Mr. Michalson has resided in Cicero since 1963. He was the son of the late Wasyl and Magdilene Michaliszyn.
Fred was a 1956 graduate of Hudson Valley Technical Institute and was an army veteran of the Korean War, serving with the 13th Helicopter Transport Co. during "Operation Big Switch".
Fred retired in 1987 after 31 years as a Research Laboratory Test Technician and was instrumental in the development of the Heat Pump at the Carrier Corp. in Syracuse. He was also a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Cicero.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, the former Leah Ryndes, a son and daughter-in-law Dr. William R and Dr. Karen Michalson of Douglas MA.
Graveside services will be private and at the convenience of the family at Oakwood Cemetery. Krueger Funeral Home, Mattydale has charge of the arrangements.
