Leah R. Michalson, 85, longtime resident of Cicero, died Saturday, August 24, 2019. Leah was born in Oneonta and resided in Cicero for 46 years. She was the daughter of the late Leal and Julia (Oster) Ryndes.
Leah graduated from St. Luke's Nursing School in New York City in 1955 and earned her Master's Degree in Adult Education from Syracuse University in 1975. She was inducted into the sorority Phi Kappa Phi while at S.U. Leah worked as a Registered Nurse with various hospitals including SUNY Health Science Center for over 35 years before retiring in 1991 as the Director of Quality Assurance.
In addition to her parents, Leah was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Fred Michalson, in 2008, step-mother, Betty Jane Ryndes and a sister, Marshalee Stasky.
Surviving is her son and daughter-in-law: Dr. William R. and Dr. Karen Michalson of Douglas, MA; siblings: Virginia Lee Avery of Little River, SC, True Ryndes of San Diego, CA, and David Ryndes of Tampa, FL.

Graveside services are Friday, 1:00 pm at Oakwood Cemeteries Inc., 940 Comstock Ave., Syracuse.
