Edward S. Mucenski Sr., 90, of Toas Ave, Mattydale, died yesterday at Iroquois Nursing Home in Jamesville. A native of Clinton, NY and raised in Newton Falls, NY, Edward resided in Mattydale for the past 55 years. He was the son of the late Walter Mucenski and Josephine Grodnay.
Edward was a World War II Army Veteran who served his country in the European Theatre. He retired in 1983 as a production specialist at Anaren Microwave in East Syracuse. Edward was an avid golfer and belonged to several Syracuse area leagues. He was a communicant of St. Margaret?s Church and over the years was active in many parish activities.
Edward was predeceased by his wife, Mary in 1978. He is survived by his five sons: Edward Nancy, of Potsdam, Thomas Ann Bilbo, of Charlottesville, VA, Philip Jean, of Fairport, John Andrea, of Sarver, PA, Michael Cathleen, of Cincinnati, OH; his sister, Jennie Wioncek, of Clay; his brother, James Mucenski, of Marion, IN; his nine grandchildren: Amy, Dennis, Janice, Patricia, Marcia, Lynn, Sarah, Laura, and Caitlin; his great great granddaughter, Hannah.
Friends may call Wednesday from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at Krueger Funeral 2619 Brewerton Rd. Mattydale. Prayer will be held at 9:30 am at the funeral home followed by mass at 10 am at St. Margaret?s Church. Burial will be in St. Mary?s Cemetery, DeWitt. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Margaret?s Church Human Development Fund, 203 Roxboro Road, Mattydale, NY 13211.
