Charles Neidel

March 30, 1942 — January 14, 2017

Charles J. Neidel, 74, of Liverpool, died peacefully Saturday, January 14, 2017 with his family at his side. Chuck was born and raised in Schenectady, the son of the late John and Loretta Neidel. He was the starting 1st basemen for 1954 Little League World Series Champions, for which a plaque hangs in the Cooperstown Hall of Fame. He graduated high school in 1960 from Mt. Pleasant as a standout in basketball and golf. He attended Rutgers University and played basketball on the freshmen and varsity teams. Chuck spent the last 46 years in Syracuse as a salesman. He was an avid sports fan who was passionate about the Orange, Yankees and Giants. His hobbies were fishing, golfing, traveling, grilling and relaxing poolside in the sun.

Chuck is survived by two children: Cindy Toole of Liverpool and Robert (Caryn) Neidel of Boston; and their Mother, Carolyn Neidel; his step daughter, Shelby McCloat of Eastwood; two siblings: Dorothy Clark of Schenectady and William (Vivian) Neidel of Canandaigua; five grandchildren: Nicholas (Kyle), Ryan (Ashley), Jessica, Justin, and Saren; several nieces and nephews including his God Daughter, Michele.

Friends may call on Saturday from 1:00 - 5:00 pm at Krueger Funeral Home, 2619 Brewerton Rd, Mattydale. Services will follow at 5:00 pm.
