Betty Oliver

Betty J. Oliver June 12, 2005 Betty J. Oliver, 80, of Kristin Rd., North Syracuse, died Sunday at St. Joseph's Hospital. A native of Montrose, PA, Mrs. Oliver moved to North Syracuse in 1965. She graduated as valedictorian of the Class of 1943 of Montrose High School. Bettyretired in 1987 after 36 years as a bookkeeper at various companies, including Max H. Parks in Montrose, Hawk Trailer Sales and North American Van Lines in Syracuse. She was a member of Andrews Memorial Church in North Syracuse, the Montrose Chapter #151 Order of the Eastern Star and was an avid high school athletic sports fan. Her loving husband of nearly 60 years, Charles "Bud" Oliver, predeceased her last October. Surviving are three sons, Thomas C. Lynn Oliver of Harrisburg, PA; David G. Kathy Oliver of N. Syracuse; and Jeffrey S. Marianne Oliver of Cicero; six grandchildren: Lori Scott Freed, and Chad Jenny, Scott, Michael, Joshua and Christian "C.J." Oliver; a great-granddaughter, Greta; several nieces and nephews. Services will be Wednesday at a time to be announced at Krueger Funeral Home. Friends may call 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, 2619 Brewerton Rd., Mattydale. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the North Area Volunteer Ambulance Corps, P.O. Box 215, N. Syracuse, NY 13212.
