Dennis D. Ostrander, 77, of Cleveland, passed away Friday, May 2, 2014 after a short illness. A native of Cohasset, MN, Denny grew up and attended school in Minnesota. He attended NIACC (North Iowa Area Community College) and was the last surviving child born to the late Wilbert and Nellie (Filbeck) Ostrander.
Denny was a veteran of the US Army serving in France. He retired as the Distribution Manager in 2002 after a 45 year career with Agco, the former Oliver & White Co., in Lilburn, GA. Denny resided in various locales during his employment with Agco including Omaha, NE, Kansas City, MO, and Lilburn GA before moving back to the Syracuse area to be with his family. Since retiring, Denny worked as a school bus driver for the Camden School District for the past 8 years. He loved woodworking in his shop and creating custom made gifts for friends and family. Denny had an impact on his family and their beloved Husband, Dad, Pops, Grampy, and Grandpa will be greatly missed.
He was predeceased by his five siblings: Wanda, Del, Don, Faye and Edyth.
Denny is survived by his wife of 30 years, Marilyn; five children: Cindy Shearer of Clay, Fredrick Strait of Elmira, Kevin "Oz" Ostrander of IA, Mark Ostrander of TX and Lynn (Mark) Dunn of TX; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
At Denny's request, there will be no services.
