Paula A. Swift

Paula Ann Swift, 58, lifelong resident of Dewitt, passed away Thursday, October 17, 2024. Paula was a 1984 graduate of Jamesville-Dewitt High School and received her bachelor’s degree in psychology from SUNY Oswego in 1988. She summered at a seasonal residence on Otisco Lake since she was a child.

Paula was a stay-at-home mom for many years while raising her family before working at Target in Fayetteville for nearly 20 years. She was also employed at Panera in Fayetteville for the past 10 years. She loved anything Disney and enjoyed taking cruises. Paula was a former member of St. Alban’s Episcopal Church in Syracuse.

 She was predeceased by her mother, Lee Leader in 2002 and by her brother William “Billy” Leader in 1988.

 Paula is survived by her beloved husband of 34 years, David Swift; father and stepmother, David Leader and Louise Gaw of Syracuse; five children: Matthew (Justine) Leader of Cicero, William “Harley” Swift of Orlando, Florida, Emma Swift of Dewitt, Shelby (Russell) Calhoun of North Syracuse, and Ian Swift of Dewitt; a grandson, Holden, and five granddogs.

A Memorial Service is being planned for Friday, November 22, 2024, at 5:00 pm at St. Alban's Episcopal Church.
