Michael "Mike" Pawlewitz, 51, left our world to be with his Lord on Wednesday. Mike grew up in Liverpool and resided in Syracuse for the past 30 years.
He was a 1977 graduate of Liverpool High and received an Associates Degree in 1979 from SUNY Canton in Foreign Automobile Mechanics. Mike worked for many years as a self employed foreign auto mechanic in the Syracuse area. He volunteered for the Teen Challenge and was affiliated with Unity Acres where he also worked as a facilities manager. Mike was a longtime volunteer for the Rescue Mission and loved to hunt and fish around Lake Ontario. Mike was also a musician with the band, The Over Reactors. He was a communicant of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Liverpool.
Surviving are his parents: Clarence and Shirley Pawlewitz of Liverpool; a maternal grandmother: Anne Poplawski of Lyncourt; his four siblings: Darlene John Strodel, Patrick Pawlewitz, both of Syracuse, Cathleen Meagher of Liverpool, and Christine Burrows of Mexico; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; and his loyal companion, Ringo.
Friends may call Monday from 8:30-9:30am at Krueger Funeral Home Inc., 2619 Brewerton Rd., Mattydale, followed by a 9:30 am prayer service. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 am at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Liverpool.
