Julia A. (Rose) Polacci, 69, of the North Syracuse, passed away Friday, August 21, 2015, at Francis House. She was born in Syracuse, the daughter of the late Francis and Evelyn Rose. Julia was in the first graduating class of St. Margaret's Grade School in Mattydale and graduated from St. John the Evangelist High School in 1964.
Julia was formerly employed by K-Mart, NY Telephone and recently retired this year as a letter carrier for the US Postal Service. For over 20 years, Julie has treasured the respect and friendship of her customers on RR 1 in East Syracuse and realizing little time to say goodbye, she wishes them all the best. Julia handled God's gift of life with a quiet and gentle spirit and with gracefulness and courage. Her family has been blessed with her love as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Julia is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Donald Polacci Sr. of North Syracuse; their four children: Maureen Polacci of Modesto, CA, Timothy Polacci of North Syracuse, Jason (Tiffini) Polacci of Bluffton, SC, and Donald Polacci Jr. of North Syracuse; a sister: Kathleen (Wayne) Amidon of MD; grandchildren: Hannah, Caden, and Gavin Polacci, Laura (Seth) Abbott, and Brittany Wisk; her two great grandchildren: Luca and Julianna; her aunt, Eleanor McNeal of Salisbury, MD, whom she loved dearly along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and many wonderful friends.
The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff of Hospice of CNY, Francis House, VNA Homecare, Upstate Cancer Center and CNY Family Care for their special care shown to Julie.

Friends may call on Tuesday from 4-7 pm at Krueger Funeral Home, 2619 Brewerton Rd., Mattydale. A Prayer Service will begin Wednesday, 9:30 am at the funeral home followed by a 10 am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Margaret's Church. Burial will be in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, Liverpool.
