James Pontello

James ?Jim? D. Pontello, 60, formerly of Imperial Lane, Clay, died Thursday in Palm Bay, FL. A native of Brewerton, Mr. Pontello resided in Clay for 9 years before moving to Palm Bay, Florida in 1995. He was the son of the late James J. Pontello and Marion L. DaPan Pontello.
Jim was a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War and served aboard the USS Summit County. He retired in 1994 after 28 years as a Security Lieutenant for the Allied Signal Corp. in Solvay.
He was predeceased by his wife the former Mary Jane Rich in 1976 and his brother Nicholas Pontello in 1983. He is survived by a daughter, Stephanie Pontello of Palm Bay, FL, three sons, Sgt. Anthony Chasity Pontello of Hampton VA, John Pontello of Parish, NY and Wayne Shelly Rupracht of West Monroe, NY, two sisters, Gabrielle Pontello and Michelle Keener both of Hickory, NC, a brother Christopher Pontello of Palm Bay, FL, five grandchildren, Nicholas Pontello, Zachary Rupracht, Melinda, Melissa and Timothy Bennett, many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm Wednesday at the Krueger Funeral Home 2619 Brewerton Rd. Mattydale, Funeral services will be 11 am Thursday at the funeral home. Burial with military honors will follow at the Calvary Cemetery in Johnson City, NY.
