Irma C. (Vance) Pope, 96, of North Syracuse, died Saturday at Loretto. Irma was a native of Glen Park, NY, who resided in Pennellville on County Rte 10 for over 20 years prior to moving to North Syracuse in 2000. She wintered in New Port Richey, Florida for 20 years and was the daughter of the late Sylvester and Hazel (Kentfield) Sanderson.
Irma retired in 1977 after 22 years as a key punch operator for Hubbard's Drugs in East Syracuse. She was a member of the American Legion Post #787 Ladies Auxiliary in Cicero and of the VFW Post #7290 Ladies Auxiliary in North Syracuse.
Irma was predeceased by her husband, Jerome Pope, in 1997 and by her siblings; Isabelle Kluskie, Myrtle DeLosh, Ruth Clark, and Frank and Robert Sanderson.
She loved and was loved by her family.
She is survived by her daughter: Patricia (Richard) Minota of North Syracuse; two siblings: Alma Halstead and Wilbur Sanderson; five grandchildren: Randy and Douglas Foertch, Marjorie Kull, Julie (Thomas) Valenti and Rich Minota; nine great grandchildren; and four great great grandchildren.
Burial will be in Pine Plains Cemetery, Clay.
