Frank Porpiglio, 88, lifelong resident of Syracuse, died Saturday, February 1, 2014 at Rosewood Heights. Frank was a US Marine Corp. veteran serving during World War II. He retired from Centro in Syracuse as a supervisor. Frank was also a member of the Knights of Columbus on Burnet Ave.
Frank was predeceased by his wife of 47 years, the former Mary Pirozzoli in 1996; and by his son, Frank in 1978.
He is survived by his daughter: Angela Simonds of Cicero; two sisters: Carmella Murphy of Cazenovia, and Mary Gilchrist of Syracuse; four grandchildren: Jamie (Dan) Glover, Jason Simonds, Justin (Leah) Simonds and Howard (Jackie) Simonds; three great grandchildren: Anthony Simonds, Danny Glover and Joshua Glover; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call on Tuesday from 10 a.m. to noon followed by a funeral service at noon at Krueger Funeral Home, 2619 Brewerton Rd., Mattydale. Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery, Syracuse.
