Reginald F. Potter, Jr., 59, of West Monroe, died unexpectedly Thursday at St. Joseph's Hospital. A native of Syracuse, Reginald resided in Mattydale and Central Square before settling in West Monroe 17 years ago. He was the son of the late Regina (Hollister) and Reginald F. Potter, Sr.
Reginald worked for more than 20 years as a truck driver most recently for Waste Management in East Syracuse. Prior to that, he worked for Ernie Weaver. Reginald was an avid hunter and fisherman who enjoyed his cars and was always tinkering with them.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers: Joseph Potter in 1988 and Brian Potter in 2006.
Reginald is survived by his significant other of 44 years, Patricia Wesley with whom he resided; his seven siblings: Maureen Hemingway of Central Square, Jeffrey Potter of Syracuse, Rachele Wade of AR, Daniel Potter of North Syracuse, Kevin Potter of Syracuse, Regina Demoff of Syracuse, and Shane Demoff of Syracuse; a brother-in-law, William Wesley of Mattydale; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held Monday, 1:00 pm at Woodlawn Cemetery, 800 Grant Blvd., Syracuse.
