Anthony "Tony" Pucino, 89, of Syracuse, passed away Saturday, April 4, 2015 at the Veterans Medical Center in Syracuse. Born in Weedsport, Tony grew up in Warners and resided in the Mattydale area for almost 20 years before settling in Franklin Square for the past 7 years. He was the son of the late Salvatore and Carmella Pucino.
Tony served in the US Marine Corps as a Sergeant in the Infantry during World War II and the Korean Battles securing Seoul, Inchon and Chosin Reservoir. He retired in 1985 after 35 years as a machinist for the former Solvay Process. Tony enjoyed fishing especially with his granddaughter at Carpenters Brook and bowled in several leagues in his past. As of late, he enjoyed the Wegman's Bus Trips with his friends at Franklin Square. Tony was a communicant of St. Margaret's Church in Mattydale.
He was predeceased by his wife of 53 years, the former Frances "Frit" Phillips, by his brother, Harry Pucino and a sister-in-law, Mary Pucino.
Tony is survived by his two sons: Anthony W. (Nan) and James R. (Allie), all of Mattydale; a brother: Samuel (Lois) Pucino of Weedsport; a sister: Margaret Ziemba of Fairmount; his granddaughter, Julianna "JuJu" Pucino; and by several nieces and nephews.

Tony's family wishes to express their gratitude for the loving care afforded to their dad by the nurses, doctors and staff of the 6th Floor ICU and 7B Telemetry Unit at the Veterans Medical Center.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 9 -11 am at Krueger Funeral Home, 2619 Brewerton Rd., Mattydale. A Prayer service will begin at 11 am with an 11:30 am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Margaret's Church. Burial will be in Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, Syracuse.
