James John Rebholz, 82, of Pitcher Hill, passed away Thursday, February 18. Born in Buffalo, NY on May 6, 1938, he moved with his parents in 1949 to North Syracuse in Pitcher Hill where he was a neighbor of Richard Gere. James went to North Syracuse High School, LeMoyne College, Syracuse University and Fordum University. He later became a teacher at LeMoyne in Computer Science and also at Empire State College.
James took care of his parents at home while working at Syracuse Research Corp and O’Brien & Gere Engineers. His interest in making America and the world a better place for future generations led him to write many articles for the “Patriot.” James provided scholarships to many students, gave to church, and had a hobby building model ships.
Jim touched many lives with kindness of his compassionate heart and generosity for all. His love of the Lord Jesus Christ was steadfast and always present in his aura and his bright sunshine smile. A good samaritan to all. A true friend. He will be greatly missed.
Survived by his loyal life partner and caregiver, Robert and many close friends including neighbor Louise Elliott. He was predeceased by his lady companion, Mary Armstrong.
Contributions may be made to an animal rescue organization, for the environment or Christian Mission.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 9:00 -11:00 am at Krueger Funeral Home, 2619 Brewerton Rd., Mattydale, with a service following at 11:00 am. Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery, Syracuse.
