Richard E. Vallejo

Richard “Rick” E. Vallejo, 67, of Liverpool passed away suddenly on Tuesday at his home. Rick was born in Los Angeles, CA, and has resided in the Liverpool area since 1966.

He was a 1975 graduate of Liverpool High School where he was an All-Star baseball pitcher. Rick was employed as an auto mechanic for the past 52 years, most recently for Frey Heavy Duty in Syracuse. He also worked as a carpenter, building homes in Colorado and New York. In his younger days he played adult softball and coached little league for many years. He enjoyed bowling and was an avid sports fan, especially of baseball and NASCAR. Rick has been restoring a 1948 Ford Coupe he inherited from his father in his free time, but his passion was spending time with his children. 

He was predeceased by his brother, Alan Vallejo and his father, Jose Luis Vallejo Rodriguez. 

Richard is survived by his children Kimberly (Karna Ray) Vallejo of Brooklyn, Jessie (Adrian Vega) Vallejo of Pomona, CA, Richard Vallejo of Syracuse and their mother and Rick’s lifelong friend, Diane Sylvia of Liverpool; his mother, the former Grace (Doubleday) Vallejo with whom he resided; his siblings: Antonio Vallejo of Hastings, Robert J. Vallejo of Cape Coral, FL, and Raquel L. Kelly of Bayberry; his half siblings, Benito Vallejo of Chicago and Marie Louisa Vallejo of Mexico; many nieces, nephews, and cousins in New York, Florida, California, Colorado, and Mexico.

Funeral Services will be at a time to be announced at a later date. Krueger Funeral Home, 2619 Brewerton Rd., Mattydale has charge of the arrangements.
