Carol J. Richardson, 74, lifelong resident of Syracuse, died Sunday, June 27, 2010 at home. She attended Syracuse Public Schools and among other places of employment, worked for Approved Pharmaceutical Company for two years. Carol went on to work with the Visiting Nurses Association for ten years and then for Onondaga County at Toomey Abbott Towers as a residential aide before retiring in 1990. She volunteered for Dr. Henry Washington in his final years assisting in his care.
She was predeceased by: her husband, Eugene Richardson; her father, Donald Bainbridge; and by a sister, Betty Vreeland.
Surviving are her two daughters: Donna Jones of Auburn, and Cheryl Spinks of Syracuse; her mother: Dorothy Bainbridge of Iroquois Nursing Home, Syracuse; a sister: Narcissa Ann Edmond Leubner of Skaneateles; a brother Robert Phyllis Bainbridge of Sandwich Ill; nine grandchildren: John Rowe III, Nicole Ginty, Henry Spinks III, Sasha Spinks, Shaudai Spinks, Ashley Spinks, Yaisa Jones, Denova Jones and Katherine Jones; thirteen great grandchildren: Zachary Rowe, Yanira Johnson, Calmere Williams, Isaiah Ginty, Isaac Ginty, Jedaiah Ginty, Jymere Vassell, Jymonnie Bailey, Azari Spinks, Dallas Holmes, Deondre Holmes, Mateo Rowe, and Rachel Stover; and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of CNY and the Humane Society. A memorial service will be held at Abundant Life Christian Center, 7000 All Nations Blvd., East Syracuse on Thursday July 15 at 11 am.
