Gerald "Jerry" D. Ross, 83, of Mattydale, died Friday, March 17, 2017. Born and raised in Johnson City, NY, Gerald resided in Florida and the Clay area before moving to Mattydale 20 years ago. He was the son of the late David and Mildred "Fannie" (Myerick) Ross.
He was a member of the Army National Guard from 1949 - 1953 and a U.S. Army veteran serving from 1954 -1957. Jerry retired in 2000 after many years as a manager for Coastal Oil Co. in Oil City Syracuse. He was a member of the American Legion Post #1832 in Mattydale and enjoyed the local Syracuse Farmers Markets. Jerry loved to fishing including ice fishing especially in Oneida Lake and Canada. He was a NASCAR fan and a born again Christian.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, the former Nancy Lou (Rivenburg); their children, Robert A. (Janet) Ross of St. Mary's, GA, Debra L. (Douglas) Lindsey of Fulton, and Denise J. (Frederick) Daubert of San Antonio, TX; a brother: Richard Ross of PA; six grandchildren: Joshua, Jacob, Nathaniel, Jordan, Jaime, and Craig; two great granddaughters; several nieces and nephews; his two sisters-in-law and brother-in-law: Paula L. Hatala, Carol L. Mittag and Randy R. Rivenburg.

Friends may call on Saturday from 1:00 - 2:30 pm at Krueger Funeral Home with a funeral service following at 2:30 pm. Spring burial will be in Kattellville Cemetery, Binghamton.
