Marie D. Rowe, 94, longtime resident of Mattydale, passed away Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at her daughter's home Born in Liverpool, Marie grew up on the family farm on 7th North Street and was a 1939 graduate of St. John the Baptist School. Marie resided in Mattydale since 1954 and was the daughter of the late Francis and Florence (Thompson) McArdell.
During the World War II Era, Marie worked at Crouse Hinds in an effort to support the war. She volunteered and was later employed by Assemblyman Michael Bragman's office for 25 years until his retirement. Marie and her devoted late husband, Robert, spent their retirement years doing what she loved best - spending time with each other and their family and doing flea markets. She was a devout Catholic with a strong faith in God and was a communicant of St. Margaret's Church, a member of their Altar Rosary Society and a volunteer at their Food Pantry.
Marie was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Robert Rowe, in 1999 and by their son, Mark, in 2008.
She was a devoted Mother and Grandmother survived by her four children: Col. Robert J. (Anita) Rowe of Syracuse, Mary (Bill) Rybak of Cicero, Dr. Christine (Dr. Thomas) Kershner of Saratoga Springs, and Kathy (Dr. Frank) Rowe Malfitano of Baldwinsville; four siblings: Leo McArdell of Baldwinsville, Florence Orman of Rochester, Grace Corbin of Clay, and Kay Mussi of Liverpool; a daughter-in-law, Debbie Rowe of Phoenix, NY; 11 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, September 15, at 12 Noon, in St. Margaret's Church, Mattydale.
