Clemens Ruggaber, 88, longtime resident of Liverpool, died Wednesday, December 25th at Francis House in Syracuse. One of twelve children born in Heidelberg, Germany to the late Georg and Anna (Holtz) Ruggaber, Clemens emigrated to Hamilton, Ontario before moving the the United States in 1956. He was educated in Germany where he attended a trade school to be come a plasterer.
Clemens retired in 2006 after 50 years as the owner and operator of Ruggaber Construction in Liverpool. Following that, he worked part time at various Syracuse area construction companies. Clemens was a longtime member of New Apostolic Church in Liverpool.
Clemens is survived by his wife of 66 years, Patricia (Saynor); their three children: Linda (Gary) Born of Rochester, Robert (Karen) Ruggaber of Amboy, and Richard (Kristine) Ruggaber of Liverpool; a sister, Elizabeth Maas of Canada; 10 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Francis House, 108 Michaels Ave., Syracuse NY 13208 or to Hospice of CNY, 990 7th North St., Liverpool, NY 13088.
Friends may call on Saturday from 3:00 - 4:45 pm at New Apostolic Church, 7045 Buckley Rd, Liverpool, with a Funeral Service starting at 5:00 pm. Spring Burial will be in Collamer Cemetery.
