Louis Sarne, 78, formerly of Brighton Towers, died Thursday at St. Camillus Health & Rehabilitation Center. A native of Erie, PA, he was the son of the late Salvatore and Flavia Sarnuto. Mr. Sarne resided in Liverpool for many years and then five years at Brighton Towers before moving to St. Camillus in 2004. He was a career naval veteran with 20 years of service until 1967, which included time served during the Korean War. His duties included participating in the occupation of the Philippines, being the Entertainment Director at the NCO Club in Paris France in the 1960?s and as a Recruiting Officer. Since then he was employed as an office worker for 20 years at the Carrier Corp. in Syracuse and as a salesperson for Mobilecom Communications for seven years until 1994. He was a communicant of St. Margaret?s Church in Mattydale and was a Free and Accepted Mason.
Louis is survived by 1sister Mrs. Frank Josephine Pappalardo Sr. of Mattydale, several nieces and nephews.
There are no calling hours. Private funeral services with Military Honors will be held at the Onondaga Co. Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Krueger Funeral Home, Mattydale has charge of the arrangements.
