Harriett Scheirer

February 5, 1928 — November 27, 2010

Harriett M, Fix Scheirer, 82, of North Syracuse died Saturday at University Hospital. She was a life resident of the North Syracuse area, the daughter of the late Albert and Doris Fix, and step-daughter of the late Josephine Fix. Harriett resided with her beloved husband Ted on Daphne Drive for 15 years prior to moving onto Tallowood Court in 1989 where they resided for 20 years.
Harriett was a 1946 graduate of North Syracuse High and worked as a waitress at Ma & Pa's Inn, a family business in North Syracuse for 20 years. She retired in 1974 after 10 years at Howard Johnson's Restaurant in Northern Lights. Harriett was an avid bingo player and a member of Luther Memorial Lutheran Church.
She was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Theodore "Ted" Scheirer on September 30, 2009. Surviving are a daughter: Doris Scheirer of North Syracuse; her four sons: Gary Rita Scheirer of Clay, Jerry Paula Scheirer of Liverpool, Larry Rose Scheirer of Charlotte NC, and Terry Cindy Scheirer of Brewerton; 13 grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
Friends may call from 4-7pm Tuesday at Krueger Funeral Home, 2619 Brewerton Road, Mattydale. Funeral services will be 11 am Wednesday at Luther Memorial Lutheran Church. Burial will be in North Syracuse Cemetery. Contributions may be made to National Kidney Foundation, 731 James St. Suite 200, Syracuse, NY 13203.
