Martin Scherr

January 22, 1939 — December 1, 2005

Martin ?Marty? Scherr, 66, of Leonard St., Mattydale died Thursday at the Francis House. He was a life resident of Mattydale.
Marty was an Army veteran and retired in 1997 after more than 25 years as a Carpenter for the International Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America Union Local # 747 in Syracuse. He was an avid Trap Shooter, Hunter and Fisherman and was a life member of the Toad Harbor and Pathfinder Rod and Gun Clubs. He was also a member of the South Shore Association, the Mattydale American Legion Post #1832 and St. Margaret?s RC Church.
He was predeceased by his son Martin Charles in 1994. Surviving are his daughter Christine Michael Brannon of New Orleans, two sisters Helen Addison of Syracuse, Elizabeth Barbagallo with whom he resided, his long time companion Barbara Neville of Mattydale, his granddaughter Camille Brannon New Orleans, several nieces, nephews and cousins in the US and in Germany.
Funeral services will be 9:30 am Monday at the Krueger Funeral Home and at 10 am in St. Margaret?s Church in Mattydale. Friends may call from 1 to 4 pm Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the St. Margaret?s Angel Fund 203 Roxboro Rd. Mattydale, NY 13211.
