Paul Schilling

June 24, 1925 — November 21, 2005

Paul D. ?Duke? Schilling, 80, of Snowdale Dr., Seneca Knolls, Baldwinsville, died Monday at home following a brief illness. A native of Syracuse Mr. Schilling resided in Baldwinsville since 1976.
He owned and operated Shawn-Dee Shelties with his wife Loretta where they bred and showed Shetland Sheepdogs for over 30 years, and he owner/handled many to their obedience titles. Duke served in the Pacific theater with the US Navy during WWII and retired in 1992 after 37 years as a Letter Carrier with the US Postal Service. He delivered mostly on the North Side.
Duke was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge #644 in Baldwinsville, having served one term as Prelate and competed aggressively in various local and state shuffleboard competitions. He was a life member of the Pet Haven Perpetuation Assoc., which is the final resting place of many of his Shawn-Dee Shelties. He was a member of the CNY Shetland Sheepdog Club, the Syracuse Obedience Training Club and the Onondaga Kennel Assoc.
He was predeceased by his son Robert G, in 2003. Surviving wife of 63 years Loretta B. a granddaughter Nicole Eric Schilling-Ungleich of Cicero, two great grandsons Kyler and Logan, three step grandsons Donald, Dean and Lawrence Miller, several step great grandchildren and his four legged kids Georgie, Cher, Bubba, Molly, Danny, Sarah, Fancy, Hope and Velvet.
Moose services and funeral services will begin at 8:30 pm Tuesday at the Krueger Funeral home in Mattydale. Friends may call from 7 to 8:30 pm Tuesday at the funeral home 2619 Brewerton Rd. Burial will be in the Spring at Pet Haven Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the American Shetland Sheepdog Assoc.
