Mark K. Scott, 48, of Stinson Street in Syracuse died Wednesday at St. Joseph's Hospital following a sudden illness. He was born in Patterson, NJ, and grew up in North Syracuse. Mark also lived in Zephyr, FL for ten years before moving back to the Syracuse area in 1993. He was the son of Diana and the late James K. Scott.
Mark graduated in 1978 from North Syracuse High and was currently attending OCC for an Associate Degree in electrical engineering. He worked as an aerospace welder at Bombardier Transportation in Auburn for ten years until the plant's closing in 20006. Mark had a passion for music and was an avid guitar and keyboard player. He belonged to several area bands including: "Sweet Revenge", "Night Vision", "24/7", and "Brass Inc".
Mark is survived by his wife of 24 years, the former Sandra Caruana, his three children: Jacquelyn, Christopher and Kyle Scott, all living at home; his mother: Diana Scott; his two brothers: Gregory Scott of North Syracuse, and David Scott of AZ; his loving parrot: Frankie; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 2-5pm on Sunday at Krueger Funeral Home, 2619 Brewerton Road, Mattydale NY 13211. Services will be Monday, 10am at the funeral home followed by burial in North Syracuse Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the family in care of Krueger Funeral Home.
