A. Ann Shorney

A. Ann Shorney, 90, longtime resident of Mattydale, passed away Sunday, April 3rd at The Cottages at Garden Grove in Cicero. Ann was a native of Syracuse and resided on Brookfield Road since 1968; she was the daughter of the late Francis and Doris (Lamb) Kelly.

Ann was a 1949 graduate of Central High School. She retired in 1992 after 25 years as the administrative assistant to the president of Countryside Credit Union. Ann also worked for Singer Publishing over a period of several years. She enjoyed quilting and knitting and was a communicant of St. Margaret’s Church and a member of their prayer group.

Ann was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Arthur W. Shorney, in 2013.

Surviving are her six children: Michael (Jeanette) of Ormond Beach, FL, Kathleen McHale of Clay, Arthur W. Shorney Jr. of Shady Shores, TX, Brian (Shawne) of Baldwinsville, Keith (Patti) of Cayuga, and Christine (Wendel) Provence of Memphis, TN; a brother: Gene Kelly of Lancaster, CA; fifteen grandchildren; and many great grandchildren.

Friends may call on Sunday from 1:00 - 4:00 pm at Krueger Funeral Home, 2619 Brewerton Rd., Mattydale. Prayer service will begin Monday, 9:30 am at the funeral home followed by a 10:00 am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Margaret’s Church. Burial will be in Onondaga Valley Cemetery, Syracuse.
