Sharon Slaby

October 28, 1947 — April 15, 2008

Sharon Leoanrdo Slaby, 60, of Driftwood Drive in Liverpool, passed away peacefully Tuesday after a long battle with MS. Sharon was a native of Syracuse and had lived in Liverpool since 1968. She was the daughter of Mary and the late Nicholas Leonardo.
Sharon attended Maria Regina College in Syracuse. Most recently, she worked as a dealer at Turning Stone Casino; previously she worked as an office manager at Sergent, Webster, Crenshaw, and Follie of Syracuse for several years and prior to that worked for Syracuse University as an office manager in their Physical Plant Dept in 1980-1988. Sharon enjoyed gardening, surfing the internet, and shopping. She was also a communicant of St. Margaret's Church.
Sharon was predeceased by her husband, Leonard Slaby in 1992 and her father, Nicholas Leonardo in 2007.
Surviving in addition to her mother are her children: Lisa Tony Maravi of North Syracuse and Joseph Anne Venner of Atlanta, GA; and her grandson, Gabriel Maravi. She will be missed by her family and friends, who are comforted in knowing that she is now with our Lord and no longer suffering. The family wishes to thank the staff at Sunrise Nursing Home for their compassion and care.
Friends may call on Thursday from 6-8pm at Krueger Funeral Home, 2619 Brewerton Road, Mattydale. Prayer will be on Friday, 11:30am at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Margaret's Church at noon. Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery, Syracuse. Contributions may be made to St. Margaret's Church Building Fund or Angel Fund, 203 Roxboro Road, Mattydale NY 13211.
