Jerome "Jerry" Smith, 89, of Liverpool, died Friday, November 29, 2019 at the VA Medical Center in Syracuse. Jerry was a native of Syracuse who resided on Douglas Ave in Liverpool since 1952. He was the son of the late Clarence and Harriet (Grover) Smith.
Jerry served in the US Army from 1948-1950. He retired in 1993 after 44 years in the shipping department of Carrier Corporation. Jerry was a life time member of Liverpool First United Methodist Church where he served as a head usher. He was a member of the Syracuse Obedience Training Club participating in agility trials with his border collie for many years.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 66 years, the former Alice (Spangenburgh); two daughters: Roxanne (Tom) Sakowski of Lakeland and Diane (Doug) Carrick of Cicero; his son: Kenneth (Mary Jo) Smith of St. Cloud, FL; two sisters; four brothers; five grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren.

Friends may call on Wednesday from 4:00 -7:00 pm at Krueger Funeral Home, 2619 Brewerton Rd., Mattydale. Funeral Services are Thursday, 10:00 am, at Liverpool First United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Cemetery, Warners.
