Martin ?Marty? Stackpoole, 51, of Utica, died Sunday at Loretto Center of Utica where he had resided for the past six years. Marty grew up in Chittenango and resided in Liverpool for several years prior to moving to the Utica area.
He was a 1979 graduate of East Syracuse Minoa High. Marty loved anything to do with monkeys and collected Goofy?s. He was always available to assist anyone in need. Marty had a genuine smile and a heart of gold. He was a former member of Malden Road United Church of Christ.
Marty was predeceased by his father, Wayne W. Stackpoole Sr., in 1999.
Surviving are his mother: the former Shirley Labonowski, of Utica; two sisters: Nancy Paul LaPointe of Volney, and Nina S. John Ballard of Godwin, NC; his brother: Wayne W. Antoinette Stackpoole, Jr. of Clay; nine nieces and nephews; and one great nephew.
Friends may call Thursday from 4-7 pm at Krueger Funeral Home Inc., 2619 Brewerton Rd., Mattydale, with a funeral service following at 7 pm. Burial will be in Plainville Cemetery. Contributions in Marty?s memory may be made to his family c/o Krueger Funeral Home.
