David C. Stanton, 65, of Farmstead Rd., Liverpool died Sunday at the Veteran?s Administration Medical Center in Syracuse following a brief illness. A native of Nedrow Mr. Stanton resided in Manlius for several years before moving to Liverpool in 1972. He also maintained a vacation home in the 1000 Islands.
He was a graduate of Onondaga Central High and attended Freed-Hardeman College in Tenn. And was an Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War and also served duty in Panama.
David retired in 2002 after 30 years as an Electrical Engineer for WSYR News Channel 9 in Syracuse. He was a member of N.A.B.E.T. and the N.R.A. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening.
He was predeceased by his wife of 34 years Phyllis A. Wild Stanton in 2000 and his father Raymond ?Cy?. Surviving are his daughter Nancy Tim Clasen and their children David, Laura and Nicole of Mattydale, three sons Ray Amy Stanton and their daughter Briana of Cape Cod, David Caryn Stanton of Cape Cod, Michael Stanton and his fiancé Rebecca Perry of Boston, his mother Ruth Stanton Taylor, three sisters Linda Erskine, Ruth Ann Mancari, Pamela McLane, and his fiancé Susie Higginbotham.
Family and friends may call from 4 to 7 pm Wednesday at the Krueger Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10 am Thursday at the funeral home 2619 Brewerton Rd. Mattydale. Burial with military honors will be in Bourne National Cemetery, Cape Cod.
