Hilda K. Storm, 94, formerly of Pitcher Hill Apartments, North Syracuse, died Wednesday at Iroquois Nursing Home. A native of Iroquois Ontario Mrs. Storm grew up in Watertown, attended Watertown High School and resided in Mattydale for 50 years prior to moving to North Syracuse in 1987.
Hilda retired in 1979 after working for 15 years as a waitress for Ma & Pa?s Restaurant in North Syracuse. She also worked at Marty?s and Hafner?s Restaurants. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 185 at Centerville, the Plank Rd. Historical Society and a past president of the Pitcher Hill Apartment Association and the Salina Civic Seniors. She also worked as a volunteer for Michael Bragman and wrote a news column for the North Syracuse Star News about the Pitcher Hill Apartments. She attended Calvary United Methodist Church. She was predeceased by her husband Jacque Storm in 1965 and a daughter Janet Walter on 2005.
She is survived by two daughters Kay Basile of Ohio, Brenda Finch of Hastings, a sister Eva Schopfer of Liverpool, nine grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren two great great grandchildren.
Services will be 11 am Saturday at the Krueger Funeral Home. Friends may call from 9 to 11 am Saturday at the funeral home 2619 Brewerton Rd. Mattydale. Burial will be in North Syracuse Cemetery. Contributions may be made to NAVAC PO Box 215 North Syracuse, NY 13212.
