Joe Stott

December 31, 1943 — May 17, 2006

Joe A. Stott, 62, of Holiday Drive, Mattydale, died Wednesday at his home. He grew up in Brewerton and resided in Mattydale for most of his life. He was a Marine Corps veteran serving in Guantonimo Bay, Cuba during the Cuban Missile Crisis and the Vietnam War era. He was employed for 40 years as a truck driver with various trucking Companies in the Syracuse area including Santaro, Ruston?s and Boston-Buffalo Trucking Companies.
He was a founding member of the Dunkin Donuts Coffee Shop group. Joe was a loving husband and devoted family man. He enjoyed any family function, especially back yard cookouts.
Joe was the son of the late John and Ada Stott. He was predeceased by his siblings Paul Sr., Peter, Sally Tassone and Jenny Mossow. Surviving are his wife of 28 years the former Kathy DeFonde, five daughters Jamie Stott, Amanda Stott both of Syracuse, Audrey Russell Wilbur of Central Square, Charlene Stott of Oswego, and TaraJo Derrick Halpin of Central Square, 3 sons John Christine Stott of Central Square, Clinton Tracy Stott of Cadiz KY, Joseph Stott Jr., of Central Square, three sisters Rosanna Iannuzzo of New Jersey, Ruth E. Tillman of North Syracuse, and Anne Luys of Florida, 22 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter and was a loving uncle to his nieces and nephews as well as his cat Juju.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm Monday at the Krueger Funeral Home 2619 Brewerton Rd., Mattydale. Funeral services will be 10 am Tuesday at the Funeral Home. Contributions may be made to the Family c/o Kathleen Stott.
