D. Jeannette Sweeney, 82, of North Syracuse, died Sunday, January 4, 2015 at Crouse Hospital. Jeannette grew up in Baldwinsville and resided in North Syracuse since 1965. She was a graduate of Central High.
Jeannette retired in 2003 after 10 years with Eagle Comtronics in Liverpool. Prior to that, she was a Phlebotomist at a local laboratory. After retiring, Jeannette worked as a home companion for many years. She was an active member for many years of the Order of the Eastern Star Memorial Lodge Centerville Chapter #185 where she served as the Point of Ruth from 1995-2010. Jeannette was well known for her baking especially her apple pies and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a devoted member of Luther Memorial Church in North Syracuse and active in their choir and quilting group.
She was predeceased by her husband of 33 years, Eugene "Skip" Sweeney II, in 1993.
Jeannette is survived by three children: Ann (Brian) Hyde of Clay, Markalynn "Mickey" (Kyle) Dotson of Topeka, KS and Eugene "Gene" Sweeney III of North Syracuse; seven grandchildren: Jessica, Shaun, Kyla, Kendra, Kayla, Mike, and Ryan; her two great grandchildren and was expecting three more soon.

Friends may call on Thursday from 4-7 pm at Krueger Funeral Home, 2619 Brewerton Rd., Mattydale. Funeral Services are Friday, 10 am, at Luther Memorial Church, 435 S. Main St., North Syracuse, NY. Burial will be in North Syracuse Cemetery.
