Dorothy Sweeting

Dorothy L. Pitcher Sweeting, 30, of Brighton Ave. Syracuse died Saturday at her home unexpectedly. She was lovingly known to her friends and family as ?Dort? and much to her dismay some knew her as?Dinky Dort?. Dort was a life resident of the south side of Syracuse and attended Syracuse City Schools. She was raised by her Godparents Dawn and James Sweeting of Syracuse and would have celebrated her 31st birthday on Tuesday.
She was predeceased by her mother, Dorothy Crane, in May of 2005. In addition to her godparents Dort leaves behind two children, Carlissa and Andrew Pitcher, both living at home; two brothers, William and his wife Tracey Carr of North Syracuse, Peter Carr of Watertown, three sisters, Ruthanne Hammer of Syracuse, Donna and her husband Vince Kelly of Parish, Mabeline Carr of Fulton, and an aunt, Melinda Sweeting, of Syracuse, several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 7 pm Friday at the Krueger Funeral Home. Calling hours are 4 to 7 Friday prior to the service. Contributions may be made in care of the Krueger Funeral Home 2619 Brewerton Rd. Mattydale, NY 13211.
