Alcide J. "Sid" Taillon
January 28, 1924 — February 16, 2022
Alcide "Sid” J. Taillon, 98, formerly of North Plymouth Ave in Mattydale, passed away Wednesday, February 16th, 2022, at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Sid hailed from Apple Hill, Ontario, before moving to Liverpool in 1964 where he resided on Pleasantview Drive until 1980. He resided in Mattydale for over 40 years and was the son of the late Albert and Aglee "Lily" (Bergeron) Taillon.
Sid retired in 1986 after 22 years as a service manager at the Goodyear Store in Mattydale and at the retread plant and warehouse for Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. He was a former member of the Moose Lodge in Solvay and a communicant of St. Margaret's Church where he volunteered for the Lenten Fish Fry.
He was predeceased by his wife of 62 years, the former Lillian (Beaudoin), in 2006 and by a daughter, Norma Miesch in 2018.
Sid is survived by four daughters: Elaine (Raymond) Laperle of Cornwall, Ontario, Marguerite (Bob) Parks of Mattydale, Lorraine (Buddy) Fuller of Phoenix, and Jeannine Clary of Syracuse; a son-in-law, Joe Miesch of Mattydale; his 9 grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 8:30 – 9:30 am at Krueger Funeral Home, 2619 Brewerton Rd., Mattydale followed by a 9:30 Prayer Service and a 10:00 am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Margaret's Church. Burial will be in North Syracuse Cemetery.
