Rosemary C. Hayes Tamkin
Rosemary C. Hayes Tamkin, 78, of Mattydale, died Tuesday at St. Joseph?s Hospital. A native of Syracuse Mrs. Tamkin resided in Mattydale for 36 years and Spring Hill Florida for 13 years before returning to Mattydale following the death of her husband of 54 years Edward C. Tamkin in 2002.
Rosemary was a 1945 graduate of St. Vincent DePaul High school. She retired in 1981 after more than 30 years as an Operator & Clerk for the New York Telephone Co. in Syracuse. She also was a member of the Telephone Pioneers.
In addition to her husband she was predeceased by her brother John in 1999. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law Sandra & Ed Everhart of Minoa, a brother William Hayes of Syracuse, a sister-in-law Yvonne Hayes of E. Syracuse, 3 grandchildren Robyn, Christian & Karyn, 2 great grandchildren Mackenzie & Hayden, 2 nieces and a nephew.
Services were held privately on Thursday at St. Margaret?s Church. Krueger Funeral Home 2619 Brewerton Rd. Mattydale was entrusted with the Arrangements. Contributions may be made to the Hinsdale Volunteer Fire Dept. 113 Malden Rd. Mattydale, NY 13211 or NAVAC P.O. Box 215 North Syracuse, NY 13212.
