Robert "Bob" N. Tedesco, Sr., 82, of Kathan Road in Brewerton, died Wednesday at St. Joseph's Hospital. Bob was a native of Syracuse and resided in Brewerton since 1967. He was the son of the late Dominic and Eleanor Fyler Tedesco.
Bob served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II from 1947-1950. He was employed as a truck driver at S&H Wholesale Co., East Syracuse for over 20 years before retiring in 1990. Since then, he worked as a maintenance man for Christopher Community at Roger's & Long Manor Senior Apartments in Brewerton. Bob was active in the Pace Program at Malta Manor and the North Area Respite Day Care Program at Andrews Memorial in North Syracuse. He was a life member of the Brewerton V.F.D., a member of the Fire Police Squad since 1990, served as a member of the American Legion Post #915 in Central Square, and was a member of the Voiture Nationale 40&8. Bob was a communicant of St. Michaels Church in Central Square.
He was predeceased by his wife, the former Joan Miller in 1979, by his daughter, Roxanne, in 1976, and by his son, Fred, in 2008.
Surviving are his wife of 29 years, the former Arlene Place; a son: Robert N. Jr. of Central Square; step-children: Roberta A. Roller of Seffner, FL, and John M. Morse of Central Square; eleven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and one great great grandson.
Friends may call on Friday from 4-7 pm at Krueger Funeral home, 2619 Brewerton Rd., Mattydale. Services will begin on Saturday, 9 am at the funeral followed by burial in Hillside Cemetery, Central Square. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Bob's memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
