William G. Thomson, Jr., 84, of Syracuse, died Friday at St. Camillus Health Center. William was a native of Syracuse who resided in Fairmount for the past 58 years. He was a graduate of Solvay High School and the son of the late William G. and Lauretta (Geiger) Thomson Sr.
William enlisted in the US Marine Corps following his graduation and served in the Korean War for 5 years. He worked for Westinghouse Company for 30 years as an appliance repair man and then owned and operated Thomson's Appliance Repair for many years. William was also a school bus driver for the West Genesee School District for 16 years until retiring in 2003. He was an avid fisherman who enjoyed catching bass and salmon on Lake Ontario. William was a longtime communicant of Holy Family Church in Fairmount.
William is survived by his wife of 58 years, the former Barbara (Johnson); their five daughters: Karen (Alan) Todeschini of Fairmount, Kimberlee (Mike) Geno of Mattydale, Linda (Mike) Barnes of Lumberton, NC, Susan (Mike) Rotella of St. James City, FL, and Debra (Fred) Harfmann of Liverpool; his three brothers: Richard, Gary, and Lynn Thomson; two sisters: Sharon Thomson and Beverly Orr; his six grandchildren; four great grandchildren; one aunt and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, 1:00 pm, at Holy Family Church, 127 Chapel Drive, Syracuse, NY 13219.
