Timothy D. Cherney

Timothy D. Cherney, 68, of Brewerton, passed away Saturday, October 19, 2024, after a long illness. A native of Jenkintown, Pennsylvania, Tim was a 1974 graduate of LaSalle College High School in Wyndmoor, PA. He attended Bucknell University in Lewisburg, PA, and received his master's degree in mathematics from the University of Pennsylvania.

Tim worked as a software engineer for over 27 years at Lockheed Martin in Liverpool. His hobbies included gardening, hiking and woodworking. Above all else, Tim enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and making people laugh.

He was predeceased by his parents, Paul and Dorothy (Fanning) Cherney.

Timothy is survived by his wife and partner of 42 years, the former Mary Louise (Breitwieser); a brother, Paul Cherney of Yardley, PA; two sisters, Clare Cherney M.D. of Milford, CT, and Carol (Roger) Johnson of Newark, NY; a loving family of caregivers; and by many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

All Services will be private at the family’s convenience.
