Clark Tomb

August 19, 1925 — November 21, 2006

Clark E. Tomb, 81, of Brookfield Rd., Mattydale, died Tuesday at the Veteran?s Administration Medical center in Syracuse. A native of Syracuse he was the son of the late Glenni and Hazel Tomb and resided in Mattydale since 1949. Clark was an Army Air Corp Veteran of WW II and served in the Pacific Theater.
He retired in 1986 after 25 years as a Plumber/Steamfitter for the General Electric Co. in Syracuse. He also was a Certified Archery Instructor with the Professional Archery Association. He owned and operated the 2 Hits & a Miss Indoor Archery Range at Sports-a-Rama in Mattydale from 1959 to 1965.
Mr. Tomb was a past Master of the Centerville Lodge # 648 in North Syracuse, a past Patron of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter #185, a District Grand Lecturer of the Onondaga District in 1990 and a long time member of the Calvary United Methodist Church.
He was predeceased by two grandsons Greg Haberek and Ted Bently. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years the former Elinor Jeffers, two daughters Karen Greg Haberek of Jamesville, Kathy Bentley of East Syracuse, two sons Kenneth Connie Tomb of Hudson Falls, Kevin Deborah Tomb of Hastings, two brothers Glen Tomb of Fayetteville, Paul Tomb of Arlington, VA, eight grandchildren Wendy Walsh, Emily Landers, Erica Bentley, AmyBeth Tomb, Shamus Tomb, Patrick Tomb, Jessica Tomb, Daniel Tomb, and four great grandchildren William Howland, Bridget Walsh, Cameron Walsh, and Riley Tomb.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 pm Saturday at the Krueger Funeral Home 2619 Brewerton Rd., Mattydale. Masonic services and Funeral services will follow at 7 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be in White Chapel Memory Gardens Cemetery in Dewitt. Contributions may be made to the Calvary United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, 201 East Molloy Rd., Mattydale, NY 13211.
