Morton "Bill" W. Tourtellotte, 82, of Garden City Drive in Mattydale, died Saturday at the VA Medical Center in Syracuse. Bill was a native of Newark, NJ and had been a resident of Mattydale since 1930; he was the son of the late Charles A. and Viola M. Tourtellotte.
Bill served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and served aboard the USS Lyman. He was the proprietor of Bill's Fix-It Shop located in Mattydale. He was a life member of the V.F.W. Post #3146 in Mattydale, a life member of the D.A.V. Seneca Chiefs chapter #197, and the past member & advisor of Troop #75 Mattydale. Bill also assisted his wife Julia in teaching Adirondack Mountain Clogging at their studio, participated at many clogging events and was a former member of Calvary United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife: the former, Julia M. Harding; his daughter: Linda Wells of Charleston, SC; his three sons: Kris T. of Conway, SC, Carl T. of Ashville, NC, and John T. of Parish; 11 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and 2 nieces and 1 nephew.
Memorial Services will be held at a later date at a time to be announced. Bill has generously donated his body to science.
