Walter J. Trendowski, 88, of Mattydale, passed away on Monday. Born in Solvay, N.Y., Walter moved to Mattydale in 1941. He was employed by Crucible Steel as a general foreman before retiring in 1979 after 43 years of service. Walter belonged to St. Margaret's Church, Management Club at Crucible Steel, Mattydale-Hinsdale Seniors Center, and Third Ward Men's Club in Mattydale. Walter was predeceased by his two sons, David and Norbie Trendowski; brother, Stanley Trendowski, and sister, Helen Lasinski. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Jane Trendowski; a son, Jerald D. Trendowski of Kirkville; a sister, Virginia Carl of Mattydale; two brothers, John Trendowski of Lakeland and Donald Trendowski of Warners; four grandchildren, David and Brian Trendowski, Christine Cloutier, and Amy Trendowski; two great-grandchildren, Brandon Cloutier and Ava Trendowski; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Margaret's Church in Mattydale. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in DeWitt.
