Grace Marie, 93, passed away peacefully at her home in Brewerton on February 22, 2017. Grace was born in Buffalo but raised as 1 of 11 children to Catherine Miller on a dairy farm in Western NY. She married her big love, Frank Tullar, whom she met while working as one of the original Rosie the Riveters, at Bell Aircraft during WWII. After seven moves, they settled their family of six in No. Syracuse in 1959.
Grace was passionate about her faith, family and work and was spirited by her daily perseverence against any impediment and to lovingly tell "it" like she saw it. She was a parishoner of Luther Memorial Lutheran Church and served as a Sunday School teacher and Council member. She later became a communicant of St. Rose of Lima. Her faith and devotion to God defined her and was often on display in her love of family, friends, cooking and gardening as she found and shared the beauty in people as much as her flowers. She worked as a dedicated mom, a nursery school teacher, and as a salesperson for Sears and Roebuck, and lastly, as the co-owner and operator of Frank Tullar Equipment for 22 years.
Gracie was predeceased by her husband, Frank, in 1989 and her eldest son, Wayne, in 2013.
She is survived by her spouse of 13 years, Peter Damico; by her three children: Larry (Jeanne) of York, PA, Mark of Cicero and Annette Wisniewski of Liverpool and her daughter-in-law Saragrace (Sally) Tullar of Clay; nine grandchildren: Teri Lawless, Wendy, Kurt, Lara, Clay and Luke Tullar and Matthew, Aaron and Connor Wisniewski; four great grandchildren; Jacob, Bridgid, Holden and Aria; step children; and several nieces and nephews. She left us all, full of grace.
Contributions in Grace's memory may be made to either NAVAC, P.O. Box 215, N. Syracuse, NY 13212 or to Hospice of CNY, 990 7th North St., Liverpool, NY 13088.
