Grace "Thelma" Tupper, 94, of Leonard Street in Mattydale, died Wednesday at St. Joseph's Hospital. Grace was a resident of Mattydale for over 50 years and was the daughter of the late Marshall and Georgianna Cole.
She attended Vocational High School. Grace retired in 1975 after 40 years as a cashier for A& P Tea Company in Syracuse. She volunteered at the Salina Civic Center during the Flu Clinic for five years and was a member of the Salina Civic Seniors. Grace was a communicant of St. Margaret's Church.
She was predeceased by her husband of 58 years Ernest Tupper in 1992.
Grace is survived by her two daughters: Gloria Jack Anson of Camillus and Karen Wylde Tim O'Neil of Mattydale; five grandchildren: Patrick, Robert and John Anson, Laura Daginault, and Jeremy Wylde; her sixteen great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; and her two sisters: Evelyn Zoll-Wylde of Mattydale, and Georgianna Gaffney of Albany.
Friends may call Friday from 4-7 pm at Krueger Funeral Home Inc., 2619 Brewerton Rd., Mattydale, NY. Prayer service will begin on Saturday, 9:30am at the funeral home followed by a 10am Mass of Christian burial at St. Margaret's Church. Burial will be in White Chapel Memory Gardens, Dewitt.
