Mary Tynan

January 12, 1919 — May 15, 2008

Mary W. Tynan, of 104 Maple Lane, Pitcher Hill died Thursday at the home of her granddaughter, Meghan Haven-Buske in the loving presence of her family.
Born in Syracuse, she was a graduate of the Convent School. Later she attended the Powelson Business Institute. At one time, she was employed by the New York Telephone Company; in later years she joined the personnel of Sears Roebuck and retired in 1967 after twenty years service. Mary was a 53 year member of St. Margaret's Church in Mattydale and served as a Eucharistic Minister and a Lector. Mary was past president of its Altar and Rosary Society and a member of its Socialites where she served for two years on the Board of Directors. A former volunteer at Christ the King Retreat and Conference Center, she was a past vice president of its Auxiliary. Mary also served as a past proctor for New York State's Professional Licensing Exams.
She was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, William J. Tynan in 1992.
Mary is survived by her daughter: Mary J. Tynan Robert Foree of Liverpool, and her three sons: William F. Tynan Sharon Leeber of Santa Monica, CA, James F. Judith Tynan of Albany, and Richard J. Jayne Tynan of Alexandria, VA; her eight grandchildren: Colleen Manley, Mandy Tynan, Sara Tynan, Jeremy Tynan, Michael Haven, Meghan Haven-Buske, Caithlin Lopes, and Davin Tynan; as well as three great grandchildren: Abigail Mary, Jack Tynan, and Peter Jacob and several nieces & nephews.
Friends may call from 5-8pm on Sunday at Krueger Funeral Home, 2619 Brewerton Road, Mattydale. Prayer will be given on Monday at 10:30am at the funeral home, followed by Mass at St. Margaret's Church at 11am. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Dewitt. Contributions may be made to the Perpetual Rosary Monastery, 803 Court Street, Syracuse, NY 13208 or Hospice of CNY 990 Seventh North St. Liverpool, NY 13088.
