Mary Ann L. Valasek, 86, longtime resident of Circle Road in North Syracuse, died Saturday at Crouse Hospital. Mary Ann hailed from Natrona, PA, and was last surviving child born to the late John R. and Twila I. (Gray) Butler.
Mary Ann worked as a sales clerk at W.T. Grants and K-Mart in Mattydale. She also had worked as a meat packer at Sweetheart Market in North Syracuse.
She was predeceased by her daughter Debra Adams, two brothers John R. Butler Jr. and Gary Butler.
Mary Ann is survived by her husband of 66 years, Albert J. Valasek; their two daughters: Darlene (Peter) Anchikites of West Monroe, Diana Kibbe of Minetto, and her five grandchildren: John and Jim Kibbe, Michelle Pierce, and Aaron Ryan and Leah Field; and eleven great grandchildren.
Friends may call on Tuesday from 4-7 pm at Krueger Funeral Home, 2619 Brewerton Rd., Mattydale. Entombment will be in Our Lady of Hope Cemetery, Tarentum, PA. Contributions in Mary Ann's memory may be made to National Kidney Foundation, 731 James Street #200, Syracuse, NY 13203.
