Rose M. Valente, 92, life resident of East Syracuse, passed away peacefully Wednesday at Iroquois Nursing.
Rose was a communicant of St. Matthew's Church in East Syracuse where she was a member of the Altar-Rosary Society and had a devotion to reciting the Rosary daily. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the United Transportation Union. Rose greatly enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
She was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Fabrizio "Frank" Valente, in 2005. Surviving are 2 sons: Frank E. Andrea Valente and Dennis Catherine Valente; a daughter: Karen Michael Rubenstein; 2 sisters: Virginia Anthony Paolini and Louise Ziviello, all of Philadelphia, PA; grandchildren: John Heather Centore, Daniel Jill Valente, Stephen Valente, Lauren Valente, Jaclyn Valente; and 4 great grandchildren.
Prayer service will be 8:30 am Saturday at Krueger Funeral Home followed by a Funeral mass at 9:30 am in St. Matthew's Church, East Syracuse. Entombment will be in St. Mary's Mausoleum, Dewitt. Friends may call from 4-7 pm Friday at Krueger Funeral Home, 2619 Brewerton Rd. Rt. 11 Mattydale. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Rose's memory may be made to St. Matthew's Church Food Pantry, 229 West Yates Street, East Syracuse NY 13057.
