Albert J. Valerino, Sr., 79, of Liverpool, passed away peacefully in his sleep on May 1, 2018, after a long struggle with Parkinson’s disease. Albert was born on February 2, 1939 in Syracuse, NY. He graduated from North High School.
He worked at General Electric and then New Process Gear, eventually renamed Magna International, and served as the president of UAW Local #2149, a group representing clerical, technical and engineering workers.
His hobby was photography and he specialized in weddings but also greatly enjoyed capturing cherished family moments in photos. He enjoyed music, dancing, skiing, shopping and socializing; and had a special place in his heart for animals.
Albert was predeceased by his parents, Carmen and Nancy (DiMarino) Valerino; his sister, Fannie Antelmi; his brother, Pat Valerino; and his daughter, Donna Anne Valerino.
Albert is survived by three children: Theresa (Lloyd), Albert (Robyn), and Linda (John); as well as his brother-in-law, Joseph Antelmi; his former wife, mother of his children and lifelong friend, Ruth (Maurice) Valerino Infantino; and longtime dance partner and treasured best friend, Mary Sullivan. Albert is also fondly remembered by 5 grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and treasured caretakers who became like family to him.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm at Krueger Funeral Home, 2619 Brewerton Road, Mattydale, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in celebration of Albert’s life at 12:30 pm in St. Margaret’s Church, 203 Roxboro Rd, Syracuse, NY 13211. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Dewitt.
